ChopstickDiner.com / Healthy lunchbox!

my healthy lunchbox set! What a cute packaging!

HELLO PEEPS! Like I said in my previous post I've been really busy for the past week and same to the next!
So making lunches for myself was never an option for me cause of my busy schedule, I really salute those woman
who stays fit and healthy and packs lunches to the office themselves! It's such a desire to become one like them next time.
I believe we put in too much junk into our bodies we sometimes neglect the fact that we need to eat healthy to stay healthy.
I don't usually exercise as well, I only exercise my arm to put LAYs in my mouth lol it's the sad truth. I'm really unhealthy,
especially with a tight schedule I often opt for foods outside, that's fried with dirty reused oil and probably a lot of other
unhealthy things that I don't wanna know of. Many times I think of detox-ing all the bad stuffs that I put into my body...

...then I stumbled upon this really cool healthy lunchbox site! CHOPSTICKDINER.COM
WHICH DELIVERS DIRECTLY TO YOUR DOORSTEP / WORKPLACE! More info on their delivery HERE
They give FREE DELIVERY for those above rm50 and only an additional rm5 delivery fee for those below rm50 :)
There's tons of other HEALHY LUNCHBOXES to order, check out the MENU HERE
so instead of other unhealthy stuffs like mamak food and "chap fan" (mixed rice)
I opt for something healthier just to give a lil cleansing to my greasy tummy (eeeee)

Such beautiful colors (all entering my stomach soon). Healthy yet pretty stuffs! :D I'm excited.

First off, I ordered the HALF HALF - it's a combination of Viet Spring Rolls, and a choice of your salad,
Great option if you ask me and if you're new to them, you can not only try one but TWO different combos from the menu!
Money well spent, oh by the way, all these freshly prepared lunch boxes cost RM15 which is pretty reasonable if you ask me,
RM15 for healthy, fresh food well prepared for you and delivered to your doorstep so you don't need to go out the hot sun.
Not only you decrease the possibilities of getting skin cancer and a bad tan, it's damn convenient, filling, and also surprisingly yummy!
Like I said before I'm not a person to always eat my greens, but it's been a while since I've seen greens looking so appetizing!
OKAY so I did some stalking research la, Ms Elaine (the superwoman behind CHOPSTICKDINER.COM) was a freelance food stylist.
(No wonder the presentation is so nice!) She's also a supermom of two kids who runs her own company now!
Okay not that you've known a lil bit about the background, let me show you what I ordered:

ah hehe, their spring rolls from their HALF HALF lunchbox are too cute!

my rating : 4/5 - if you like vegs,
You know, I'm still trying to eat as much vegs as I can to stay healthy, so this one was a mouthful of vegs for me.

Next one : Smoke Salmon Caesar Salad !! RATING : 5/5 :D

your name and the item you ordered will be stick on the side of the box!
so no worries if you get confused if you ordered a lot.

This is my favorite, probably cause i'm a sucker for Smoke Salmon salad, mmmm to die for!
The greens were extremely fresh and they still gave out a crispy crunch in my mouth followed by the croutons and beef bacon bits!
You cannot go wrong with Smoke Salmon Salad I tell you, so if you're unsure what to order, go for this dish!
It's surprisingly filling as well which left me greedily wanting for more! So guys, if you're feeling healthy do something good for your tummy!
(oh shit that rhymed) Submit your lunch orders by 10pm and get it delivered to your the next working day!
OKAY, HAPPY HEALHY MUNCHING KIDS! :) xoxo

Lazy Weekend at PULP by PAPA Palheta @ BANGSAR REVIEW

top : COTTON ON / bottoms : MANGO / shoes : VINCCI / bag : vintage

Here's a picture of my sulky face right there, because today unfortunately my car got banged by this idiot driver who was speeding...
He was speeding out from a junction and he thought that it was a one way on my side of the road but omg it's NOT!
They say you should drive carefully because if you're not banging other people's car, idiots on the road will bang yours.
Sigh, and it did happen to me today, I just really hope he pays up as promised because man I'll be a fool trusting humanity if he doesn't.
Just pray that people out there really do stay true to their words :( But then again,
I know there's a lot of doubts, and people would be calling me silly for not launching a police report, but let's pray for the best!
Just feel so traumatized driving now because this is my FIRST TIME getting into a car accident... :( my heart aches and my hands are shaking...

my boss was saying, "Wah you can still smile after that" in the office when she heard I got into this car accident.
But honestly... I'm just hoping for the best even though there's so much doubts.

But anyways! This is one of those rare photos of me with long pants on, I HARDLY wear any long pants, in fact
I don't really own much long pants because I think they're just so unflattering on me! makes my lower body look so fat!
But these are an exception just because I love the prints! Crazy coconut prints with a tinge of green on a super nice red background.
FUNKY! Just the way I like my long pants. haha. I think I own less than 4 long pants in my wardrobe by the way.
So last weekend I wore this comfy lazy look to a cafe near by my house that I always wanted to try- PULP!
Love the logo by the way, Check it out!

When you talk about having COFFEE in BANGSAR the usual place you'll think of is around Telawi area, but this one is not.
It's one of those hidden cafes located in Riong's Balai Berita building, the head office of New Straits Times Press.
No wonder I was shocked and was in a "HUH?" look when I saw the sign "Art Printing Works Factory"
This place previously belonged to a paper-cutting space. Pulp is run by a Singporean coffee boutique PAPA PALHETA,
and I heard they do authentic coffees in Singapore so coffee lovers were ecstatic when they heard that he's opening another branch here.

Checking out the place.... I love anywhere with HIGH CEILINGS. honestly it just feels so.... stress-free.
Love that there's aluminum on the ceilings so that the natural light can reflect through, perfect industrial design!
Then again, this place used to be an industrial place... It was so crowded during the weekends, seriously,
this place is getting famous because tons of people kept on coming I was amazed as the door kept opening.
Amazed because actually there's nothing much at all in this area, and people would still come all the way for this coffee
It's quite difficult finding a place to sit here during the weekends so I reckon weekdays would be best.
But then again, who goes to coffee houses during weekdays (except for free-lancers, ah so nice!)...

We were seated on an old printing / cutting machine, and here's the menu! Simple (and not much choices)
At first I was thinking of having lunch here but thank god I didn't because there's no food here except for cakes and scones.
So folks, if you're thinking of having pasta or some big breakfast, you can't find it here okay~

What my friend ordered - Cold Brew Coffee which I like and should have ordered

But I went for the middle one with the big huge black circle on the menu.
Hand-brewed, you can have it either in bright, balance or bold. And my friend accidentally ordered BOLD for me,
omg damn kao. hahaha. Damn, but one thing good about this place is that they practice cupping before serving every cup.
That's why it takes a bit of time to reach to the customer's table...
No need to think about coming here on a weekend, because it so packed and noisy like a MAMAK.
This certainly isn't a very nice place to chill and catch up with your friends during the weekends.
I donno why this post is turning a lil over-bitter like this coffee here, but yeah.. haha.

For Parking we park just in front across the road which had plenty of parking space that time. I came here around 3pm ish.

And one thing that you should know is PULP is open from 9am-7pm WEEKDAYS ( EXCEPT MONDAYS)
and 9am-10pm WEEKENDS Pulp By Papa Palheta
29-01, Jalan Riong, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

Wong Ah Wah Famous Chicken Wing @ Jalan Alor FOOD REVIEW!

You'll need to pardon me with the bad phone quality pictures but this place is way too awesome not to blog about!
And because it was a spontaneous trip again thanks to my weird cravings, lol anyways let's go!

MONDAY NIGHT!
After work, (and during work) I was already super super super excited to head to this place.
I've been talking about this place THE WHOLE DAY at work because of the sudden cravings for chicken wings!
And I've never ever been to Wong Ah Wah before... Yes... I know.... It's sad. And whenever I say chicken wings,
people would tell me to go try Wong Ah Wah's one at Jalan Alor. The reason why I haven't been there before
is because I don't usually go to that area (it's beside Changkat) and plus I don't usually eat out or go out at night much.
And it's amazing because I got to go on this lil ADVENTURE with the BFF whom I miss so much!!
Frankly everytime's a fun time whenere I'm with her, so anyways! Let's talk CHICKEN WINGS!!! omg so exciting!

SO FIRST, PARKING!

I hear from my colleagues (yea since I've been talking about it whole day at work) that parking there is a lil difficult.
There's the usual Changkat price parking where it's around rm10-rm15 per spot, or you could do what I did,
Park illegally by the road side, in hopes that your car won't get scratched or banged. yea that's what I did.
Because we weren't gonna be there long and I thought it would be a waste spending on parking, anyways
after that it was a short walk to the famous "market(?)" at Jalan Alor. I'm calling it Market since there's lots of food there.
and just look at the pictures, it does look like those typical night market place. WOOHOO! First time here!!
But yea, after we got our parking. my friend saw this sign and I was like... OMGGGGG! We're finally here!!

First thing to do : Pose like a typical tourist... Pardon me cause I'm just TOO EXCITED to try these famous babies!
My colleagues was telling me not have too high expectation but I just couldn't contain my excitement!!

AND BAMMMM!! THEY'RE HEREEEEEE!!
JALAN ALOR'S FAMOUS CHICKEN WING!!
Pardon the blur picture because I was shaking with excitement while taking this photo!

uuuu LA LA~ Smells sooooo gooooood!! Really really good cause it's GRILLEDDD!
Oh yes, welcome to my tummy chicken wings!! We ordered 8 pieces. 4 each, so it's just nice!!
I was wondering if I should just PLAINLY order their Famous Chicken Wings for dinner, or some other food as well,
but we decided to try other stuffs since we hardly come here and we're already here anyways~
The chicken wings are RM3 for a piece! Marinated with their special sauce (quite thick!) Which had a honey kind of taste!
The chicken was crispy on the outside, chewy and juicy on the inside! So tender too! And it was exquisite.
Tender, juicy meat was dancing in my mouth as it's sauce melts on my tongue and as my tastebuds rejoys on it's flavoring.
Ohhhhh... So good.... For a moment I wanted to stay in that moment...
Damn greedy after finishing this plate my mind was wanting for somemore........!!

Next thing we ordered is a recommendation from my colleague - the Xiu York (3 layer pork) mee.
It's just like the typical Wan Tan Mee, but this time with the 3 layered pork!!
Usually it's minced meat, or char xiu, but this time it's XIU YORK. my favorite way to eat the pig.
Salty crispy fried skin with it's sinful soft bouncy fatness from the pork with enough amount of meat to top it up,
mixed with our local delicacy - the wan tan mee, stirred to perfection because the saltiness from the pork
goes so well with the mee and vegs! Our typical chinese way of eating Wan Tan mee...
YUMS! and this was only RM12 (single) more than enough for the bought of us to share! :)
I would so order this again next time! Here's another thing that I would order again:

HAM DAN SOTONG! ( SALTED EGG SQUID!)
OHH MY LORD... Put HAM DAN with anything and I would like it. and these amazing dish is to die for!!
Salty but not so salty because I could taste the york of this HAM DAN!(salted egg). They put a generous amount of egg in this!
which is again... AMAZING. and thank you so much for doing that chef! Another thing awesome is that
some HAM DAN dishes makes the food soggy because of the eggs, but this one is fried to perfection!
The Squid is still semi crispy!! Because I think they put flour and then deep fry it with the HAM DAN goodness...
OH GOOD LORD.... before I die I must eat this again... and it's only at RM15!

close up of the HAM DAN (salted egg) goodness . COME TO MAMA!

TYPICAL BEFORE AND AFTER PIC, because I know we're gonna clean everything up!!

and just after 15 mins!!! DAMN FAST! we both were like, " Eh? Finish already ah? so fast!!" hahaha

BURPPPPP!!! Satisfied HAPPY FACE :) sighhh.. really happy and it's funny how they say good food makes you happy
it's fucking true. And honestly, I can't wait to get back here!!! Despite that it's a bit far from my place,
but omg. You MUST TRAVEL for good fooddddddd!!
And not only that, this amazing good food only cost about RM45 for the both of us!!
Which I think is really really really really WORTH every cent compared to those high class chinese restaurants in shopping malls.
This one was sooooooooo gooood.... omgg..........

That's it guys! I hope I made you hungry as much as I made myself right now. haha
TO MORE CHICKEN WINGSSS!!!

UPDATE!!! SO I RETURNED AGAIN AND I NEEDA SHARE WHAT ELSE I ORDEREDDD! :D

THIS TIME I GOT TO TRY THE LALAAAA. so awesomeee! Note to self : please get back there and order this soon!

I was expecting the ikan bakar would be nice, but hmmm I've tried better ones!

but nevertheless, we finished EVERYTHING AGAIN hahah.
notice that the same thing I ordered with the previous time is the HAMDAN sotongs, and of course the CHICKEN WINGs!

I love you wong ah wah hahahhahha. wtf.

Brooklyn B Bagel Bakery and Cafe FOOD REVIEW! @ SUBANG!

jacket : ZARA / top : TOPSHOP / bottoms : bali / shoes : FOREVER 21

Again wearing my most comfiest shorts ever! I'm totally shameless when it comes to comfort I'll reuse it again and again LOL
During the weekends which is my special free time and "adventure" time, I ventured into a cafe where I always wanted to try
for quite sometime now. Also opened by a very dear friend of mine. But we'll talk about that in a bit, First! OOTD time! :)
yup. you got it right... this was after shopping at P&M, oh god i'm so broke right now!!

detailed close up on my quite new silk top from topshop, and the rest of my outfits....
Recently the haze is back and everyone is wearing Haze le Parfum. It's insanely blithering hot right now,
and I'm devastated that I can't play much with layering clothing as much as I want to cause it's too hot!
I'm even devastated now because I'm sick! Sick to the bones because I haven't been having much rest recently.
haven't been sleeping much, and always waking up way too early has cause me to finally break down on my health state.
I'm having the 3-in-1 (flu, high fever, sore throat) and I hardly get sick, but when I do it's serious :(
Honestly hating this right now, cause it's always when I'm sick I feel the cravings to eat spicy tomyum food,
drink lots of sweet cold bubble milk tea, and ohh. McDonald's Fries... Spicy chicken wings... Domino's pizza...
Oh damn... But one thing contrastingly healthy other than my oil-filled cravings is that I'm craving for this lox bagel...

***
Which brings me to the cafe that I was talking about, one thing also famous about it is this piece of art done by my friend Katze.
Also known as Tihah, I knew her cause we go to the same college and the same batch. She has sooo much talent,
I used to (and still) admire and respect her photoshopping skills so much since sem 1, and also her talent for drawing.
Totally incredible and she has a very unique style where in a glance you can see that it's done by her... so much talent!:)
Check out her FB page guys, and also this wall she did here... totally awesome!

OMG. Trying hard to keep an emo face, because I'm going for that "emo single in a cafe" feel. ahhahaha damnit!
okay, i think I finally nailed it here. ahhahah. I should be holding a cup of coffee instead of that receipt -_-
obviously I fail at keeping straight faces so here's a pic with my friend's creation, NICE RIGHT!? :D

So back to this yummy place (if you have not notice the tittle and my photo)...

 time to order some BAGELLLLSSS!!
 ze menu ! WHEEEEE....

omg If you guys don't know what is bagel.. No it's not another name for DONUTS...
According to the chef after chatting with him he said that was one of the funniest thing he ever heard from someone.
LOL, and it is, it is creative at the same time, cause who would have thought?! BAGELS = DONUTS...

When I also asked why Brooklyn ? New york style...
and yeah, as obvious as it may seem, it is because they make authentic NEW YORK style bagels locally from scratch,
A new thing that I learnt is that there are so many other different types of bagels like canadian, australian, etc...
For those of you who don't know the difference between a bagel and a donut.
Well, Bagels are ring shaped bread made from yeasted dough which are boiled and then baked.
Crunchy and shiny on the outside, yet chewy and dense on the inside, Come on, way more different than donuts!
Donuts are more airy and they're both made using complely different cooking processes, donuts have no yeast in them,
they're more of a batter type dough and are deep fried. When you boil and bake a dough, it's usually more chewy like bagels!

OKAY BACK TO WHAT WE ORDERED!
I ordered the one with LOX. Don't know what LOX is? Me neither in the first place,
So i Had to ask and annoy the chef - " What is LOX??"
rupa-rupanye, it's salmon, just that they use the term "LOX" more often in brooklyn ;)

AND ACTUALLY, the chef and one of the owner is my very good friend from college - Chris Fowler.
that's why I purposely ask so much and annoy the shit out of him , hahahahha
MINE CAME FIRST! cute packaging that some how reminds me of nasi lemak from afar.
Hi my bagel friend!
I ordered salmon lox (on the RIGHT), and my friend ordered Oriental chicken if I'm not mistaken.... lol
opening up mine woohoo! yummy yummy salmon ohh my favvvv!! With cream cheese! MMMM!! :)

First bite from Brooklyn B's BAGEL... and it was....
mmmmmmmmm. YUMMY! Julie approve! :D
It is true that it was crunchy on the outside, and chewy on the inside!
It may look small but it surprisingly served me full as a meal! Don't think this would be a snack food,
it's more of a meal to me cause it is filling! And the portion of salmon lox which they gave was FAT size! which I love :3
Can't wait to come back here again and order somemore!
Apparently a lot of ang-mos like coming here to take away bagels that could last them the entire month!
They would stock it in their fridge and I'm surprise that it can last that long when kept in the refrigerator,
but then again it's BREAD! so that makes sense.. hehe. Maybe I shall do the same too!
Stock up lots and lots of LOX BAGELSSS OHH YUMSSSSS!!!!

spotted my beloved ex-lecturer there~
Chris, my good friend, and of course one of the owner and founder for Brooklyn Bagels,

Honestly so proud of this guy... With the right creative mind (thank you The One Academy)
targeting the right people, coming up with the right concept, and opening his very own business.
So much to learn from this guy and omg we had nearly a 2 hour + catch up talking non stop it's crazy how time flies.
Not only when you're talking, but also when you're living life itself! We've grown so much after college!
But that's life guys, and right now, life is giving me lemons... Flu to be specific.

And I better head to bed soon to take a flight to dream land....
Hope I can get well soon so I can visit this yummy place again!:)

Meanwhile you guys can feel hungry and check out on their MENU!

Nights little ones....
